Day wise Itinerary: - Day 01: Arrival Delhi ---------------------------- Shimla (14th May 2024) Meal –Dinner On arrival at Delhi Airport/railway station you will be met, assisted and drive towards Shimla Hotel. Shimla was the former summer capital of British India, set amidst the snow- capped Shivalik Mountains Which offers some of the most stunning views of the mighty Himalayas. About Shimla The British Empire have ceased to exist, but its echo lingers on in Shimla (2205m). As the Summer Capital of the British in India, Shimla was the country's focus for the better part of every year and now, is the state capital of Himachal Pradesh. Today, it has well developed facilities, easy accessibility and numerous attractions making it one of India's most popular hill destinations, situated in the lower ranges of the Himalayan Mountains, it is surrounded by pine deodar, oak and rhododendron forests. Towards the north lie the snow-covered high ranges, while the valleys breathe whispering streams and swaying fields. After cover Kufri come back to Shimla and cover Shimla local sightseeing, Kali Bari Temple, Tibetan Market, Wood Market (Lakkar Bazaar) & Christ Church Christ Church, Shimla needs no introduction. The church is the second oldest church in all of North India and hands down the most famous and popular tourist attraction in Shimla. It’s easy to locate as its big yellow building is located at the beginning of the infamous mall road. If you are looking for a few moments of total calm and peace, then visit the church. The church interiors are quite humble, but the church walls hold within them many tales of the forgotten time. You can sit on the benches and spend some time communing with God, meditating or simply spend time some quiet time with yourself and your thoughts. Scandal Point The large platform located in the center of Shimla town is known as the Scandal Point. Despite its name, there's nothing scandalous about this area. It's surrounded by shops, restaurants, and the famous mall road. Several viewing platforms are situated here, offering breathtaking views of the Shimla valley and the surrounding mountain ranges. If you visit Shimla during winters, you can enjoy the stunning views of the snow-capped mountain ranges from the platforms. The place is especially crowded during evenings as people gather here to witness the beautiful Himalayan Sunset. You can also visit the Tudor Library, which is located here. Jakhu Temple Shimla’s Jakhoo Hills is the highest peak in the area at 8000 feet high, and it's one of the most popular attractions in the region. A trip to Shimla wouldn't be complete without visiting this hill, so make sure to add it to your list of places to see. Unfortunately, you can't drive all the way up to the top, but the short trek through the thick forest with tall pine trees is both exhausting and fun. Once you reach the top, you will get a chance to capture the Himalayan landscape in its raw and true form. The panoramic views are simply breathtaking and do justice to the surreal beauty of this Himalayan hill station. You can also visit the famous Jakhoo Temple once you get to the top. Johnnie’s Wax Museum Shimla has a popular museum that attracts many tourists. The locals often compare it to Madame Tussauds of Himachal Pradesh. The museum showcases statues of various prominent personalities, including actors, politicians, sportsmen, and women from India and abroad. Spending a few hours here taking pictures with your favorite icons and celebrities can be a lot of fun. While it may not be the actual Madame Tussauds, it's still impressive. Day 03: Shimla via Kullu Valley ---------------------- Manali (16th May 2024) Meal – Breakfast & Dinner This morning, after having breakfast and checking out from the hotel, proceeded to Manali from Shimla. During the journey, enjoy some sightseeing on the way. Sundernagar Lake Sunder Nagar, formerly known as Suket, was a Princely state in India. The town is famous for its man-made lake, created by the waters of Beas-Sutlej Project, which is India's biggest hydel project. Sunder Nagar is known for its towering trees which provide shade and add to the town's green beauty. It's an ideal destination for a winter or summer getaway. Despite being a small town, it's sure to soothe your mind and soul. Pandoh Dam Pandoh Dam is an embankment Dam that lies in the Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh. Constructed on Beas River, the primary purpose of Pandoh Dam is hydroelectric power generation. It was commissioned in 1977 and is located at a distance of 10 km from Manali. The man-made lake created by the dam draws a good number of people towards it. Vacationers travelling to Manali get a perfect location near the dam to click great pictures as the location is highly picturesque and full of lush greenery. If you want to see the view of the water flowing, you need to reach there at the right time. The sight of water being released is fantastic and is a treat for your eyes. Also, you can lay your eyes upon the lovely water birds in the greenish blue waters of the dam. Vaishno Devi Temple The Vaishno devi temple is situated in Kullu, on the banks of Beas River. It is commonly known as Mahadevi Tirthankaras, and is named after Parvati, Lord Shiva's wife. This magnificent temple was built in 1966 by Swami Sewak Das Ji Maharaj and is currently under the supervision of Shri Sharda Maa Seva Trust. The temple is located about 2 kms from the town of Kullu, on the way to Manali. Devotes visiting the temple can watch the wonderful forests on the way. Besides, the apple orchards and majestic hills coming on the way are worth watching. The temple is one of the most sought after religious places in Kullu, surrounded by a peaceful environment. Kullu Nagger Known as the ‘Valley of Gods’, Kullu is a cluster of beautiful valleys in Himachal Pradesh. Located between the majestic Himalayas and river Beas, Kullu is situated at an altitude of 1230 m. Kullu is a hot-spot for adventure sports. Trekking, river rafting, mountaineering, paragliding and hiking over the Himalayan glaciers are some of the activities that Kullu offers. Angling is another activity enjoyed a lot by locals as well as tourists. Mountaineering beginners can trek around the Beas Kund region, Hanuman Tibba and Deo Tibba. Day 04: Manali------ Solang Valley-----Atul Tunnel------Rohtang Pass (17th May 2024) Meal – Breakfast & Dinner This day after breakfast proceed towards Solang valley. Solang Valley Solang Valley in Manali is located at a distance of 13 kms in a side valley at the top of the Kullu valley is a splendid valley between Solang village and Beas Kund. Solang valley offers the view of glaciers and snow-capped mountains and peaks. Solang Valley has fine ski slopes. The Mountaineering Institute of Manali has installed a ski lift for training purposes. Located here is a hutand guest house of the Mountaineering and Allied sports Institute, Manali. Now a few hotels have also come up. The winter skiing festival is organized in Solang Valley. Sking and Paragliding are twomain activities are organised here. Apart from these many other adventure sports are available like Zorbing, Horse riding & Snow Motor Bikes riding etc Atul Tunnel Atal Tunnel, also known as the Rohtang Tunnel, is a horseshoe-shaped highway tunnel that connects Manali and the Lahaul-Spiti valley, reducing travel time by 4-5 hours. The tunnel is named after the former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and is the world's longest tunnel above 10,000 feet. It is constructed in the Pir Panjal ranges, under the Rohtang Pass, and is an all-weather tunnel that has made it possible to enter the valley, which is often landlocked during the winter months. The North End of the tunnel leads visitors into Sissu, which is surrounded by high peaks Rohtang Pass If you're a nature lover and adventure seeker, Rohtang Pass in the charming hill station of Manali is a must-visit. This pass offers breathtaking beauty and captivating landscapes that will leave you in awe. At an altitude of 3,978 metres, Rohtang Pass guarantees excitement. Day 05: Manali -------------------- Local -----------------Manali (18th May 2024) Meal: - Breakfast & Dinner This day after breakfast visit local sightseeing of Manali “HADIMBA TEMPLE” Built in 1553 with asuperbly crafted four-tiered pagoda roof, it is famous for its exquisitely carved doorway. HADIMBA TEMPLE The Hadimba Temple situated in Manali is truly a sight to behold. It is a one-of-a-kind temple that is dedicated to Hidimba Devi, who was the wife of Bhima and mother of Ghatothkach. The temple is surrounded by stunning cedar forests and is built on a rock that is said to resemble the goddess, Hidimba. Locally known as Dhungari Temple, the construction and design of this temple is unique and stands apart from any other temple in the area. Its wooden doorways, walls, and cone-shaped roof are truly a marvel. The temple is a perfect tribute to its presiding deity Hadimba. CLUB HOUSE “CLUB HOUSE” The Club House with its comprehensive facilities that include roller skating. rink, an auditorium, billiards rooms, a library, a bar and restaurant make wonderful outing for theday.” The Club House in Manali is a wonderful place to visit. Located on the banks of the Manalsu Nalla, a branch of the Beas River, it offers a wide range of activities for the entire family. From indoor games and entertainment to adventure sports, there's something for everyone. Additionally, the restaurant serves delicious local and international cuisine, and there's even an auditorium, library, and video game center on site. I also learned that the Manali Club House is managed by the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC), which makes it a reliable and safe destination for tourists. It's definitely a great escape for both kids and adults, with indoor games like billiards and skating, as well as thrilling activities like river crossing and zip lining. And for those interested in shopping, the Government Shops at the Club House offer beautiful handicrafts at reasonable prices. Tibetan Monastery Himalayan Nyingmapa Gompa is a Buddhist monastery situated in Manali, which is considered one of the most renowned monasteries in North India. It holds great religious significance for devotees, and tourists are also drawn to its architectural beauty and peaceful environment. The enormous statue or idol of Sakyamuni in a sitting or meditative posture is the most prominent feature of the Himalaya Nyingmapa Buddhist Temple. The divine and tranquil vibe of the monastery can be felt right from the entrance. The beautiful icons, statues, and colorful paintings on the walls add to the beauty of the monastery. It is highly advisable to spend a few minutes meditating to get a glimpse into the peaceful lives of the Buddhist monks. Located in close proximity to the mall Road in Manali, the contrast between the hustle and bustle of the Mall Road and the serenity of the Himalaya Nyingmapa Buddhist Temple is often talked about. The monastery welcomes anyone who wants to calm their minds. In fact, the management has put up signs to guide tourists in the right direction around the Stupas without being confused or clueless about it. It is one of the best places to observe Buddhist Monks go about their prayer services and daily activities. The Himalaya Nyingmapa Buddhist Temple is a perfect place to understand the spiritual significance of Buddhism and must be visited while exploring Manali. VASHIST VASHIST” Well known for its hot springs. There are old temples dedicated to the sage Vashisth and to Lord Rama. The Vashist temple located in Vaish village of Manali, Himachal Pradesh is said to be around 4000 years old. It's situated on the banks of Bipasha River, which is now known as Vyas River, and is surrounded by hot water springs that have medicinal properties. These springs are believed to be effective in curing various skin diseases, and many people come here to use them for therapeutic purposes. You can visit VanVihar, Jogni Waterfall, also. Day 06: Manali------Manikaran------Kasol----- Delhi Drop (19th May ,2024) Meal: - Breakfast After Breakfast Checkout the Manali hotel proceed to kasol via Manikaran and After reaching Kasol, walk for 20-30 minutes by the side of Parvati River and Sightseeing of Kasol Market & Chalal village where you can find many riverside cafes.to Delhi Railway Station/Airport Drop. Manikaran The Gurudwara situated in the town of Manikaran is an awe-inspiring edifice that stands out as a major attraction in the area. Its location adjacent to the Parvati river is an added advantage, offering a tranquil and calming environment for visitors. The presence of a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, in addition to the hot springs nearby, further enhance the spiritual and therapeutic experience of the location. Taking a dip in the hot springs is highly recommended, as it is believed to have medicinal properties that provide rejuvenation.
